1. Selection of vacuum pressure
When selecting settings, leave margin based on the specifications of the vacuum source
When using a jet vacuum generator, the vacuum degree inside the vacuum suction cup is generally set within the range of 63% to 95% of the maximum vacuum degree of the vacuum generator. The advice of experts in the KPA vacuum suction cup is that if the adsorbed workpiece has ventilation and rough surface, separate experimental calculations are required.
2. Calculation of the diameter of vacuum suction cups
When selecting a circular suction cup, calculate according to the following formula

D: Required suction cup diameter (mm)
M: Workpiece weight (KG)
S: Safety factor (horizontal lifting S=4, vertical lifting S=8)
n: The number of suction cups
P: Vacuum pressure (- Kpa)
Considering the adsorbable size (surface) of the workpiece, the selected suction cup diameter should be set to be greater than the required suction cup diameter (D) obtained from the catalog. Because the suction cup will deform when adsorbing the workpiece, the outer diameter of the suction cup needs to be increased by about 10%. If the calculated suction cup diameter exceeds the values listed in the catalog, it should be calculated as 2 or more. If the suction cup is not circular, it will be calculated separately.
